2,486,052% Gains Awaken Post-Satoshi Bitcoin Wallet From Slumber

Galaxy Research‘s X account recently reported a long-dormant Bitcoin wallet being awakened after more than 14 years.

The Bitcoin wallet, which contained 100 $BTC, first received them on November 2, 2011, months after Bitcoin’s pseudonymous creator Satoshi Nakamoto quietly exited the scene and was never heard from again.

Taken from the time the coins were received, this marks 14 years and 9 months, and the tokens have remained untouched since then.

Galaxy Research said the Bitcoin stash was moved in block 967732 and labeled the address as “Noah Doe #3113,” tying it to a New York legal fight over thousands of dormant Bitcoin addresses.

In March 2026, a lawsuit was filed in New York’s Supreme Court seeking quiet title to more than 3.7 million $BTC tied to 39,069 Bitcoin addresses. Plaintiffs “Noah Doe” and two unnamed Wyoming LLCs asked the court to declare them the owners of the long-dormant $BTC, including coins linked to Bitcoin’s creator, Satoshi Nakamoto.

On September 8, the crypto community was closely following an important hearing in the “Noah Doe” case.

An old Bitcoin miner?

The Bitcoin stash was likely mined before the first halving, which occurred on November 28, 2012. According to onchain data, 10.5 million $BTC was issued across 210,000 blocks before the first halving event.

Each of those blocks resulted in 50 $BTC outputs, so the address containing exactly 100 $BTC might suggest that its holder was an old Bitcoin miner, although no further facts support this yet.

Out of the 50 $BTC Coinbase UTXOs or rewards, 172,042 (83.5%) have been spent, according to Galaxy Research, with the vast majority spent before 2014.

33,995 50 $BTC Coinbase outputs remain unspent (about 1.699 million $BTC). Of those, 21,922 (1.096 million $BTC) are thought to have been mined by Satoshi Nakamoto (64.5% of the remaining unspent).

At the time of writing, Bitcoin traded at $80,347.
