XRP, the native crypto token on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), topped the list of crypto assets drained from Bitget Exchange, a global centralized exchange (CEX), earlier on September 25, 2026.
At the time of writing, 102,926,478 tokens, worth over $157.4 million, had been siphoned from one of the Bitget hot wallets, as Finbold research showed.

The Bitget crypto heist saw 31,890 Ethereum (ETH) and 12,719 Binance Coin (BNB). Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, has reassured users that the funds are safe despite temporarily suspending withdrawals.
Moreover, Bitget’s User Protection Fund can cover the entire stolen amount, holding over $464 million at the time of publication.
“User funds are safe. The full amount of this loss falls within the coverage of Bitget’s User Protection Fund, which currently holds over $464 million,” Chen noted.
XRP price performance amid Bitget’s hack
Over the past 24 hours, XRP price performance remained bullish despite the Bitget attack, catalyzed by rising whale demand amid the broader crypto positive sentiment. Furthermore, the token’s price surged over 16% during the last seven days, trading at $1.56 at the time of reporting.

During the five days, whales, XRPL addresses holding between 1 million and 10 million tokens, have increased their holdings by 470 million, worth approximately $724 million, as per data from Santiment.
Notably, Bitget’s XRP trading volume over the past 24 hours is $40,800,916, representing 0.85% of the token’s total reported volume of $4.7 billion, according to metrics from CoinMarketCap.
As a result, XRP’s confirmed uptrend, as Finbold explained, remained intact despite the $157 million Bitget hack, thereby signaling the token’s maturity as a globally traded cryptocurrency.
